Nový studiový přepis původních zvukových pásů!
Z obalu původního LP (Panton/Artia, 8113 0543) Czech or better to say Moravian rock group Synkopy is the oldest existing rock act in the country - the band was formed back in 1961. Sure, the group changed the setting a lot of times during the period of just about twenty-five years and changed the style as well. In the beginning the band was heavily infuenced by the west-coast, later on Synkopy started to present the original form of vocal-rock, the current style can be labeled as art-rock.
Synkopy's main influence comes from the Moravian melodies being combined with up-to date rock trends, from the tracks you can hear the touch of classical music; the present musical production of the band is the clever combination of classical music's reflexions and current rock ideas. Very important part of Synkopy's rock music are the lyrics, that gave the compositions another dimension (the original Czech lyrics are written by the leading rock poet Pavel Vrba, on this album the words are translated into English by Ondřej Hejma, who is a rock musician and singer himself).
The leading personality of Synkopy group is the keyboard player, singer and composer Oldřich Veselý, who entered the band twice… for the first time in 1974. Then he left to play with Radim Hladík's M. Efekt and re-entered Synkopy for the second time in 1980. His musical invention, colourful imagination and skillness gives the group the right direction - all the tracks were penned by him and Vratislav Lukáš, who played bass-guitar and violoncello with the group (he left the band recently and plays on this album as a special guest). He was replaced by the new member, bass-player Vilém Majtner.
The album you're going to spin is entitled Flying Time and all the songs come from the stage audio-visual programme of the same name. The domestic version of this album was highly praised by the musical critics as well as by the record-buyers and I hope, that you enjoy the rock music one of the leading Czechoslovak rock groups has got to offer.
